Origin and history.
Tourmaline is a kind that excist out of many different minerals. The colors can vary a lot, but the black one is by far the most found. There is also watermelon tourmaline which is very rare and precious, but you also have white, pink, green, blue and red tourmaline. It owes its name to the Sinhalese word turmali, which means ‘gemstone of different colors’. Tourmaline is especially popular with jewelry makers, because it can be processed into many unique pieces due to the diversity. Today, black tourmaline is widely used to counteract radiation from cell towers and other equipment. Tourmaline is found in all parts of the world in all kinds of different varieties. So there is no fixed location.
