Origin and history.
Labradorite is a feldspar member which is found in multiple places, but the most populair kind comes from Madagascar. Because of the schiller effect, the most beautiful color patterns are visible when combined with light. This is also called ‘labradorescense’. The most common colors are blue and gold and the most rare colors are purple, pink and red.  The first labradorite was found in Labrador, Canada, by Moravion missionaries in 1770. Labradorite was named after this area.

For the last years labradorite has become very populair and the prices get higher because of that. Madagascar people were on strike in 2022, because they wanted a better pay for their work. Good for them, this finally is arranged and they get a better reward for their hard work. Ofcourse this makes the wholesale prices on labradorite a little bit higher, but that´s worth it if the people who do most of the work, can do this with a good vibe. 

Possible healing properties.
Labradorite is a stone that protects and strengthens the aura. Highly sensitive people benefit from using labradorite when they have to be in a place with lots of incentives. Labradorite is also used a lot with children who have sleeping troubles and difficulties with functioning in crowds. Labradorite is perfect for meditations because it helps you to clear your head.

For Shamans and other healers it is a protection stone that helps them to “travel” between worlds in a safe way. On a physical level, Labradorite supports the organs connected to the solar plexus (bile, liver, spleen, pancreas, intestines and kidneys) and provides relief from sleep problems, rheumatism and gout attacks.*
