General information.
Smoky quartz is a quartz varyt with a light to dark brown color which gives a ‘smoky’ appearance. Sometimes it has a more yellow color to sometimes almost black. The color is mainly caused by radiation in combination with aluminium. Smoky quartz is sometimes extra radiated by people because some prefer a very dark color. When heated, smoky quartz can turn into citrine. Always check carefully whether you are buying a natural or processed piece. Smoky quartz does not break easily and is therefore a popular stone for jewelry and amulets.

Smoky quartz is a popular healing stone among shamans and other healers. It is also a stone that is often used in grief counseling because it offers comfort. It reduces stress and helps clear the head. Regulates emotions and helps you to think clearly. Smoky quartz seems to relax muscles and can help with stiff joints.
