Origin and history.
14.6 million years ago, a meteorite hit the east of Stuttgart. The resulting crater is called the Nördlinger Ries. It is not entirely clear how the moldavite originated, but it is a unique and extremely rare piece. Moldavite contains components out of space! It is actually a piece of earth fused with a piece of the space. Moldavite is way more rare than diamonds, hard to come by and especially popular since 2020. Moldavite is a naturally grown glass that mainly has a green glow, but is very dark at first sight. To extract 1 piece of moldavite, about one tonne of sand has to be searched. So there is a lot of work in a small piece. Moldavite owes its name to the river Moldau in the Czech Republic, where the Moldavite is found.
